Christmas trees near me
If you live in the region of Bristol, close to Pucklechurch, Stoke Gifford, Frampton Cotterell, and Winterbourne, you have to visit Elmwood Nursery. From mid-November, Elmwood Garden Centre offers a wide range of live Christmas trees. We have pot grown trees and cut trees. Cut trees are often cheaper than potted trees. We are excited to show you our complete range of Christmas trees. Make a choice from our tree variations like Firs, Spruces and Pines.
Potted Christmas tree
Potted Christmas trees are a more sustainable option than cut trees because you can plant the tree in your garden after the Holiday season is over, rather than simply tossing it to the curb. If you’ve chosen a potted Christmas tree that suits you, you have to bring it home. Here are some tips for safely transporting a potted Christmas tree.
- Since potted Christmas trees are more delicate than cut trees, because they’re alive, transport them home with care.
- When you get home, plant the potted Christmas tree into a big flower pot. Make sure the pot is big enough, so the roots continue growing.
Christmas tree types
Norway spruce: the traditional Christmas tree: lovely perfume and good conical shape
Nordmann Fir: one of the best for holding onto its soft, rounded needles
Fraser Fir: really neat pyramid shape; holds onto its dark green, flattened needles well
Blue spruce: very stiff, long needles in shades from green to powdery blue
Please ask the staff in our garden centre in Emersons Green for more information and advice about choosing your Christmas tree.
Nordmann Fir Christmas tree
One of Europe’s best sold Christmas trees is the Nordmann Fir Christmas tree. We totally understand why everyone loves this tree. With its deep green colour and round needles that don’t shed, you have a perfect Christmas tree. The official name of this variety is Abies nordmanniana. The Nordmann Fir has a longer lifespan than other firs. The Nordmann Christmas tree holds on to its needles very well. The combination of the attractive foliage, the beautiful shape, strong branches and superb needle retention make this a fantastic Christmas tree for this Holiday season. Nordmann Firs are available in sizes from 36 inches (90 cm) (tabletop) to 108 inches (2.7 m).
Norway Spruce Christmas tree
Another famous Christmas tree in Europe is the Norway Spruce Christmas tree. This tree has a vibrant green colour with pointy needles. These needles can be quite sharp, so be careful with young children or pets. The Norway Spruce is mostly known for its delightful forest fragrance that fills your home with the typical Christmas tree scent. Most important with Norway Spruces, is that you keep it well-watered during the season. For the best needle retention, keep it properly watered, so the trunk doesn’t dry out. We offer cut and potted Norway Spruces, we recommend you to re-pot the tree into a larger pot and fill the pot with potting soil. This way, the tree keeps its bright green colour and holds on to its needles for a longer time.
