Aspidistra elatior, also known as a 'Cast Iron' plant, comes in a 13cm pot and can grow up to 50cm.
The Cast Iron plant is an extremely resilient plant and is great to brighten up a corner. It's strong air purifying qualities make it perfect for rooms with lots of pollution. With it's large, deep green leaves that are tough and likely to last longer than other plants, it's ideal for someone new to houseplants. - Bright but indirect sunlight is best as direct sun can scorch the leaves
- Water when the soil feels dry by placing in a bowl of water. Water less often in colder months
- Make sure not to leave in water too long as this can lead to root rot and leaf dropping
- This plant is considered non-toxic, so if safe around pets
- Can cope in lower temperatures for periods so is suited to most rooms in your house
